\"rufusR\u00dcF\u00dcS DU <\/strong>SOL are the new confirmation for July 8th<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of the 15th edition of NOS Alive<\/strong>! The trio, which is considered one of the most magnetic groups of live electronic music, rises to the NOS Stage <\/strong>on the last day of the festival.<\/p>\n

Originally from Sydney, Australia, and formed in 2010, Jon George, James Hunt, and Tyrone Lindqvist came together around a shared passion for live electronic music icons like The Chemical Brothers and Royksopp. It is this fusion of instrumental sensibilities and thoughtful dance production that became the sonic foundation that would take them from one continent to the world stage.<\/p>\n

Their debut album, Atlas<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a> (2013), and its successor, Bloom<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a> (2016), showed the band emerging into the international mainstream<\/em> not only as one of the most important contemporary electronic bands, but also as an epic live show, having performed at Coachella in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Now, their shows sell out in minutes, with fans singing along to all the lyrics.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the trio returned after a year of solitude with their fourth studio album, Surrender<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, reinforced by the first single “Alive”, an emotional and melodic dance record that serves as a strong statement of appreciating life in the face of hard times.<\/p>\n

“We spent two years locked in our sanctuary making songs,” says the band. “At the end of that process, we translate what we’ve done in the studio, where we’re three producers and songwriters, and we go into a full band format where we assign parts to each other. We work on the songs, add jams, show off our instruments, have fun with it and let it flow freely.”<\/p>\n

The sonic tapestry of each R\u00dcF\u00dcS DU SOL album is an exercise in world building, and their 2018 GRAMMYs\u00ae nominated album inspired by space, Solace<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a> (2018), is no exception. This time they brought sound to earth, using earth and minerals – ideas of crystallization and diamonds – as a starting point. “On the last album it was space, and we were looking at how we could represent the cosmos and black holes and the galaxy through synthetic sounds,” says the band. “The new album sounds crystal clear and very granular.”<\/p>\n
