Omah Lay<\/strong> is the new confirmation for the Heineken Stage<\/strong> on July 8th of the 15th edition of NOS Alive<\/strong>! This is the debut of the Nigerian artist at Passeio Mar\u00edtimo de Alg\u00e9s.<\/p>\n Omah Lay is one of today’s most innovative and relevant artists, thanks to his voice that is as dark as it is bright, his evocative narrative, and the infectious rhythms found in his songs.<\/p>\n Early on he started making music as part of a teenage rap group under the name Lil King, deciding years later to drop the mic and venture into music production and in 2019, become the neighborhood’s<\/em> producer of choice. After producing a few songs that had some success in Port Harcourt, he rescues the microphone and edits, in 2020, “Bad Influence” and the radio anthem “You” that propelled the EP Get Layd<\/em><\/a> <\/strong><\/span>with great reviews, gaining over 100 million streams<\/em> on various platforms.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old singer and producer’s Afro-fusion label draws effortlessly from his deep personal history with the West African highlife<\/em> genre, as well as his enthusiasm for the popular sounds of his generation – from classic rap to the growing Afro-beats empire. Throughout their two inventive EPs, Get Layd<\/em> and What Have We Done<\/em><\/a><\/strong>and his debut album Boy Alone<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (featuring Justin Bieber and unravel in his voice stories and tales that navigate between introspection and romanticism to the gratifyingly explicit, skillfully placed over lush, soulful instrumentals.
