The Wombats will take to the NOS Stage on July 11th to present their latest album, Oh! The Ocean.

Oh! The Ocean pulses with social anxiety, inner conflicts, and the challenges of life in Los Angeles, where Murph currently lives, making it the band’s boldest and most sonically sophisticated album to date. Once again, the British trio offers an escape from everyday life through deeply meaningful songwriting in uncertain times — all wrapped in the band’s signature playful and seemingly lighthearted façade. Oh! The Ocean marks a new era for the group, moving away from the synthetic sounds of previous albums and embracing a more organic and human approach.

In July 2024, they brought 50 new tracks to a studio in Echo Park, LA, where they recorded over six weeks with acclaimed producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Wallows, Death Cab for Cutie), deliberately rejecting AI-based production techniques in favor of a more authentic sound.

Without ever losing their identity, The Wombats venture into new sonic territories — from shimmering tech rock to sci-fi pop, from futuristic fuzz rock to soulful blues-infused rock’n’roll, with touches of disco and hip-hop influences.
