Faith No More
09 JUL . NOS Stage .
Faith No More is the first act confirmed for July 9th, set to take the NOS Stage on the second day of the festival’s 19th edition.
Formed in San Francisco in 1979, Faith No More revolutionized the musical landscape by challenging conventions and blending genres as diverse as heavy metal, funk, hip-hop, and progressive rock. This fusion gave rise to an unmistakable sonic identity, which helped pave the way for new approaches within rock music and established the band as an essential reference point for the genre.
Their debut album, *We Care a Lot* (1985), introduced the world to the group’s raw energy, defined by Chuck Mosley’s incisive vocals and Jim Martin’s guitar work. Two years later, *Introduce Yourself* further developed Faith No More’s identity, exploring the intersection of rap and metal and showcasing the band’s—and its individual members’—ability to transform disparate influences into a cohesive, innovative sound. It was with 1989’s *The Real Thing*, however, that the band achieved international prominence. Propelled by the single “Epic”—one of the biggest hits of their career—the album brought Faith No More’s fusion of styles to a global audience, cementing their status as one of the most significant forces in rock during the late 80s and early 90s.
This was followed by the albums *Angel Dust* (1992), *King for a Day… Fool for a Lifetime* (1995), and *Album of the Year* (1997). In 1998, the band announced their breakup, temporarily closing a pivotal chapter in the history of both Faith No More and alternative rock.
They returned to the stage in 2009 with a reunion tour, bringing the band back together with their fans. In 2014, Faith No More released the single “Motherfucker,” a precursor to *Sol Invictus*—the band’s first studio album in 18 years, which arrived in 2015.
In 2027, Faith No More will return to the stage to reunite with the fans who have been waiting so eagerly for their comeback. The performance is set for July 9th at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés, on the NOS Stage at the NOS Alive festival.
