Throughout the three days of the festival, the Galp Fado Café will host the world premiere of “Playback – Paião by Tigerman” at NOS Alive 2026. The show brings to the stage the musical universe created by The Legendary Tigerman for “Playback – A Film About Carlos Paião”, the biopic directed by Sérgio Graciano, which premieres in cinemas on August 27th.

Invited by Sérgio Graciano to take on the musical production of the film, The Legendary Tigerman immersed himself in the creative universe of Carlos Paião to build a new sonic approach to the songs that have marked generations. From this challenge, Paulo Furtado created new arrangements and sounds for the artist’s themes, developing a contemporary musical identity for the film.

Thus was born “Playback – Paião by Tigerman”, the band responsible for the film’s soundtrack, making its debut at the 18th edition of NOS Alive. On stage, Rafael Ferreira — the film’s protagonist and interpreter of Carlos Paião — breathes new life into the musician’s songs, in an emotional and musical journey through the work and legacy of one of the most irreverent and creative artists in Portuguese music.

Regarding this project, The Legendary Tigerman highlights the importance of Rafael Ferreira in the creative process and the freedom to revisit Carlos Paião’s musical imagination, exploring new sonic influences ranging from post-punk, the cinematic atmospheres of Angelo Badalamenti and Ennio Morricone, and lo-fi synth sounds, while keeping the artistic essence of the Portuguese musician intact.

On stage, The Legendary Tigerman will be accompanied by Mike Ghost, Sara Badalo, and João Cabrita.
