NOS Alive ’27 will host sombr’s Portuguese debut on July 10. The breakout singer of the moment is set to take the NOS Stage on the festival’s final day.
The 20-year-old New Yorker arrives at NOS Alive ’27 hailed as the natural successor to the rock sound of Generation Z, maintaining full creative control over his music—he is the sole songwriter (and co-producer) of his tracks. A self-taught artist, he discovered his voice in a makeshift bedroom studio in the Lower East Side and learned music production while studying classical music and vocal performance at the prestigious LaGuardia High School.

In 2025, the track “back to friends” catapulted sombr into the music world; it hit number one on Spotify and reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, while also dominating the Alternative Radio charts for five weeks. That same year, he released his debut album, *I Barely Know Her*—a phenomenon that continues to make waves across the globe.

Characterized by a melancholic sound that blends pop and indie, his lyrics explore young love with striking vulnerability and depth—qualities that have further fueled his global rise.

Over the past summer, sombr stood out at numerous music festivals across North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, finally bringing his show to Portugal in 2027.

He will make his debut at the festival’s 19th edition on the same day as the previously announced Tame Impala.
