Clairo is the new confirmation of NOS Alive on July 6 at the Heineken Stage.
This is the debut of the artist in Portugal, which joins the already announced The Strokes, The War on Drugs, Stromae, Jungle, Modest Mouse, Parov Stelar, Fontaines D.C., Balthazar and Mallu Magalhães, on the first day of the 14th edition of NOS Alive.
Clairo comes to present her sophomore album, Sling with its own charming atmosphere, graced with the easy warmth of a far lovelier era but wholly the outcome of her bright & restless mind. In a co-production of her own work with Jack Antonoff, the artist reveals that Sling’s lyrical element was influenced by the adoption of her dog Joanie.
When I got Joanie, I started changing my routines & habits to healthier ones, to try to create an environment where she felt comfortable & happy, It made me realize I hadn’t been doing that for myself, & that I need to look at myself with the same respect that I’d give to someone I care about”, Clairo explains.
This work provided numerous moments of revelation for Clairo. While several guest musicians contributed to the album’s arrangements, most were made by Clairo & Antonoff. The result is a perfect setting for Clairo’s songwriting, allowing abundant space for her nuanced exploration of mental health, unmet expectations, and the struggle to treat ourselves with gentleness and love
It is this exploration that Clairo comes to present to the Heinenken Stage on the first day of NOS Alive. Tickets are available here.
