Justice, the iconic French electronic music duo, is the new confirmation for NOS Alive’25, on July 11 on the NOS Stage.
After winning the coveted Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album in 2018, Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé took this victory as a sign that they could “embark on something new”, reflects Rosnay. Over the next few months, they worked step by step on the creation of their new album, HYPERDRAMA, which was released in April 2024.
Justice took on the challenge of exploring new musical territories on HYPERDRAMA, combining the sounds of old machines with endless digital possibilities to create suites of unique melodies. The album is divided between two distinct styles: dreamy, melancholic disco and the radical aesthetics of gabber and hardcore techno, genres that the duo consider “pure and radical”. The tracks alternate between contrasting atmospheres, such as the furious intensity of “Generator” and the rave tones of “One Night/All Night”, reflecting a constant transition between shadow and light. For the first time, they collaborated with artists such as Kevin Parker, Miguel, Connan Mockasin and Thundercat, among others, reinforcing the richness of the project.
HYPERDRAMA is described as an expanded emotional universe, where joy, sadness and anger coexist at maximum intensity, offering an immersive and deeply human experience.
