Originally from Boston, embraced first by the UK and now adored all over the world, the Pixies are marking four decades of their career with the announcement of the “Pixies 40 – World Tour”, a new world tour that will kick off in the UK and Europe between May and July 2026. The current line-up includes founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering, accompanied by bassist Emma Richardson.

From their first club gigs, the Pixies have left audiences in shock with their explosive combination of chaos and control. No glamour, no stage speeches – just a raw, sweeping discharge of sound. For many, those first shows were more than concerts: they were revelations, a new way of understanding rock.

Since 1987, with Come On Pilgrim until their break-up in 1993, the Pixies cemented their legacy. More than a decade later, in 2004, the band returned to the stage – and the response was immediate. Tickets sold out in minutes, and the concert at the Coachella Festival marked the beginning of a new era.

The Pixies have continued to win over crowds of all ages and generations, reaffirming themselves as one of the most influential bands in alternative rock. After the reunion, the group unveiled a new creative phase, releasing five studio albums between 2014 and 2024: Indie Cindy, Head Carrier, Beneath the Eyrie, Doggerel and The Night the Zombies Came. With sold-out tours on every continent and a regular presence at the world’s biggest festivals, the Pixies continue to be an inescapable reference and a living force in contemporary music. Forty years on, the band continues to defy expectations – still relevant, still innovative, and showing no signs of slowing down.

NOS Alive returns to its usual home at Passeio Marítimo de Algés on July 9, 10 and 11, 2026.
