Sam Fender is preparing to make his debut in Portugal at the 17th edition of NOS Alive, where he will take to the NOS Stage on July 11. The British rock sensation arrives at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés with a new album to win over the Portuguese audience.
If Sam Fender’s debut album, Hypersonic Missiles (2019), presented an intelligent and astute British songwriter with a special talent for euphoric and impactful guitar anthems, it was the incomparable Seventeen Going Under (2021) that catapulted the Newcastle artist to stardom and took him around the world while racking up a string of awards (BRITs, NMEs, Ivor Novellos and a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination).
People Watching, the new album by the musician from North Shields, is due out on February 21 this year and the single of the same name is already available. It’s the sound of an artist who focuses directly on what makes music so joyful and emotionally resonant. The song was written for his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin, and is based on Sam’s thoughts as he traveled to and from his palliative care home. “People Watching” is undeniable. A song with heart, soul and a euphoric feeling written by a British musician whose observations on life as he lives it have already led him to headline summer festivals and sell out stadiums.
Without meaning to, Sam Fender has become one of the most celebrated and successful British musicians of his generation. In 2025, Sam Fender returns to write a new chapter in his story, with his debut concert in Portugal on the NOS Stage at NOS Alive.
