The Smashing Pumpkins, one of the bands most cherished by the Portuguese public, arrive at NOS Alive’24 to perform on the NOS Stage on July 11th.
When the band first appeared in Chicago in 1988, the world had never heard anything like it. The mix of rock, pop, shoe-gaze, metal, goth, psychedelic and electronica come together in a kaleidoscope of sugary melodies with murky distortion, bombastic orchestration, incendiary guitar riffs and unyielding choruses.
Since their formation, the sound was something different, unheard of, iconoclastic and totally new – and it still is today.
As a result, they have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won two GRAMMY® Awards, two MTV VMAs and an American Music Award.
His catalog stands out for its platinum albums Gish (1991), Siamese Dream quadruple platinum (1993), Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness certified diamond (1995), Adore platinum (1998), and Machina/The Machines of God gold (2000).
In 2018, they embarked on one of their most successful tours ever, the “Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour”. This year, The Smashing Pumpkins released their latest album, ATUM, with 33 tracks in 3 acts – written and produced by Corgan.
