The Strokes are the latest major act confirmed for July 8th at NOS Alive, joining previously announced artists The Neighbourhood and Beirut for the festival’s 19th edition. The Strokes returned to recording in 2026 with *Reality Awaits*—their seventh studio album—reaffirming the band’s ongoing relevance on the global music stage. While exploring new sounds, they have stayed true to the identity that sets them apart, preserving the unmistakable riffs and memorable choruses that have resonated with multiple generations.

Formed in 1998, the New York-based band stands as one of the most influential acts in alternative rock over the last few decades. Their 2001 debut, *Is This It*, is regarded as one of the defining records of its generation, featuring essential tracks such as “Last Nite,” “Someday,” and “Hard to Explain.”

They followed up with *Room on Fire* in 2003 and *First Impressions of Earth* in 2006. These were later joined by *Angles* (2011) and *Comedown Machine* (2013), cementing the band’s place in the history of contemporary rock. In 2020, they released *The New Abnormal*, an album that earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.

Over a career spanning nearly three decades, The Strokes have crafted timeless anthems that have stood the test of time, including “Reptilia,” “Under Cover of Darkness,” and “You Only Live Once.” Their influence reaches a wide array of other musicians and can be clearly heard in the work of bands such as The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, and Franz Ferdinand.

The Strokes will take the stage at the Palco NOS on July 8th. It is an unmissable performance—one that promises to be a historic moment in the 19th edition of NOS Alive.
