Beirut is the latest addition to the lineup for the 19th edition of the festival, set to perform on July 8th on the NOS Stage—joining the previously announced The Neighbourhood.
Led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon, Beirut is a unique project that blends indie folk, orchestral pop, and musical influences from across the globe. Their sound is defined by melodic richness, intimacy, and a spirit of constant discovery. Since their acclaimed 2006 debut album, *Gulag Orkestar*, the project has forged an artistic path that traverses diverse cultures, memories, and soundscapes.
Following *Hadsel* (2023), Beirut returned to the studio to record *A Study of Losses*, released in 2025. Comprising 18 tracks and inspired by Judith Schalansky’s book *An Inventory of Losses*, the album explores the fragility of memory, disappearance, and preservation. It expands the project’s musical universe by incorporating choral and ambient elements, as well as influences from early music—all while maintaining the signature melodic identity that defines Zach Condon’s work.
Over the course of nearly two decades, Beirut has built a body of work where nostalgia coexists with reinvention, transforming cultural references into timeless songs marked by profound sensitivity and emotional depth.
Don’t miss this major performance on July 8th, on the NOS Stage at NOS Alive ’27.
