The xx are the latest addition to the NOS Alive ’27 lineup. The British band will perform on July 9—the second day of the festival—on the NOS Stage.

With nearly six million monthly listeners across major streaming platforms, The xx—comprising Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, and Jamie Smith—stand as a benchmark in British indie pop.

Their debut album, xx (2009), reached number three on the UK charts and won the Mercury Music Prize in 2010. It was followed by Coexist (2012), which hit the number one spot in the UK. Together, the two albums have sold over four million copies worldwide.

In 2017, they released their third studio album, I See You, which reached number one in the UK and number two in the United States. Since then, the three members have pursued successful solo careers, with projects including Jamie xx’s In Waves, Oliver Sim’s Hideous Bastard, and Romy’s Mid Air.

In 2025, The xx announced their return to work on a fourth studio album, confirming appearances at major international festivals for 2026.

On July 9, The xx will make their debut at NOS Alive ’27, bringing one of the most distinctive sounds in British indie music to the NOS Stage.
